Volcano Bakery was first opened on August 8, 2016 by Haukur Hauksson. Only 9 months after he made his dream a reality he passed away suddenly in his sleep.
Shortly after Gunnar and Krista were asked if we could take over his legacy. Without any professional training they had big shoes to quickly fill. Gunnar and Krista are completely self taught using many recipes passed down from Hawk, true Icelandic originals.
Gunnar and Krista worked extra hard over the past few years to create delicious fresh European pastries and breads, along with traditional Newfoundland favourites. From beautifully decorated cakes and sugar cookies, to sandwiches and pizza!
